Kickoff Meeting for the 2008-2009 Season to be held at Al Kutz' Place

In what has become a tradition for the club, we will be holding our kickoff meeting at Al Kutz' place. The principle meal will be either steak or chicken. If you haven't done so already, please contact Leah and tell her how many people you plan to bring, your meat selections and what side dish or dessert you plan to bring to the meeting.

Second Annual Coventry Lions Coed Relay a Success!

The second annual Coventry Lions Coed Relays were held Tuesday May 21.  It was a great day for a track meet as eleven of the sixteen events established new meet records.  Lionville (Downingtown) Middle School led the way with six new records, three of them coming in the weight class 4X100 Meter Relays - 90 lb, 105 lb and 120 lb. Owen J. Roberts Middle School set four new records - all open class (any weight) 4 X 100, 4x200, 4 x400 and the Shuttle Hurdles.  Pottstown Middle School had the other meet record winning the Sprint Medley (200-100-100-400).

Members of the Coventry Lions worked and officiated the meet along with the OJR High School track team athletes. Ken Hollinger was the PIAA official and starter for the meet.

The meet was the main fund raiser for the Coventry Lions this year.  With help from its many sponsors, the club raised over $3500. The sponsors are listed on this site.

Located in Pennsylvania, the Coventry Lions club was chartered in 1958. Since then we currently have 22 members dedicated to the tenets of Lionism. Current projects include a medical equipment loan program, holiday baskets for the less fortunate in our community, leader dog training sponsorship, used eyeglasses collection for the LCIF, support for needy children eye exams, Coed Relay sporting event, and a $500 scholarship for Owen J. Roberts high school graduate.

Meetings are normally held the second and fourth Tuesday from September through June.

The meeting starts with dinner at 6:30PM.
